Approximately 70, 000 passengers ride the ferry every day--over 20 million a year--including this sleeping homeless man, whose hand is lit by the afternoon sun through the windows. Many homeless people ride the ferry on cold winter days such as this one, because it's warm inside the boat. Police officers often have to wake them up and make them leave the boat.
