NEW YORK - SEP 24: Alan Balicki, the Chief Conservator, and Elizabeth Fiorentino, the Registrar, surface clean the Lincoln Head Sculpture at the New-York Historical Society in New York on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The bust of Lincoln will welcome visitors to the major new exhibition "Lincoln and New York," at the New- York Historical Society. The plaster bust of Abraham Lincoln was made in 1922 by artist Daniel Chester French as a full-scale maquette for his Lincoln Memorial sculpture in Washington, DC. Measuring 43 ¾ inches in height, the maquette is being installed on a low pedestal, to give visitors a startling eye-level view of the familiar head, which in the Memorial looms far above them. Christopher Alzapiedi is the exhibitions tech, who is standing on the Genie, working on the lighting for the bust. (Photo by Landon Nordeman)
